Anna Rudd – Bio

Anna is having a year off from full-time teaching in 2012 to focus on her studies. You will see her as a relief teacher and at competitions, camps and other events throughout the year!

Anna founded NSP in 2005. Her years of experience with physical culture, and many other forms of dance, gives her the ability to correct errors with simple and direct instruction. Her eye for detail and fun, enthusiastic approach make her an amazing teacher and an asset to N.S.P.

Anna began physical culture at the age of 11 – and it became obvious that she had a gift for dancing. Anna had natural musicality, rhythm and flexibility, and dancing quickly became her life’s passion. After winning her Zone in the 12yrs Champion girl competition in 1994 after only 2 years of Physie, she progressed to Nationals and made the final – which she subsequently did for the next two years.

Between 1995 – 2000, Anna completed The Royal Academy of Dancing Ballet Syllabus to Advanced level with highly commended and honours. Between 1998 and 1999, Anna studied full-time Classical Ballet with Marie Walton-Mahon Dance Academy and was an assistant dance teacher at the Kim Walton School of Dance.  In 1999, she was accepted by video and resume to the John Cranko Ballet School, Stuttgart, Germany to study full-time Classical Ballet. She accepted the offer and spent six intense months there.

Since returning to physie in 2003, Anna has added to her already impressive list of achievements with appearances in the National Finals at the Sydney Opera House, including being named National 5th in 2004, National Champion in the 23-24 years in 2005, National Challenger in 2006, National 5th in 2007, National 5th in 2009 and National 4th in 2010. Most recently, she gained National 4th place in the Open Senior Champion Girl 28yrs+ in 2011. Anna currently attends Randwick Physical Culture Club.
